Video shows a heroic teenager rugby-tackling a man who attacked two police officers.
Kiya Ingham, 16, was given a police bravery award after pulling 31-year-old Bradley Hughes to the ground in Brighton, East Sussex.
Hughes was arrested by PCs Lynsey Burkinshaw and Johanna Clarke for a domestic incident and put in a police car in Lewes Road.
He then became violent, kicking out at the officers and pushing them over before running away.
Mr Ingham dropped his bag, chased after the suspect and wrestled him to the floor.
The incident took place on June 10, but CCTV footage of Mr Ingham's bravery has only recently emerged.
Hughes, from Seaford, East Sussex, was given 100 hours community service after pleading guilty to two counts of assaulting a police officer.
Mr Ingham has now decided to drop his mechanics training to become a police officer.
