Sir Roger Moore has refused to follow in the footsteps of fellow 007 star Sean Connery and is staying out of the Scottish independence debate.
The former James Bond star, 86, remained tight-lipped on September's referendum while appearing as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador at a Commonwealth Games briefing in Glasgow.
"I would not make any comment about it because I'm here as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador," the English actor said.
"Unicef, although it's a branch of the United Nations, is not financially supported by the UN - it's entirely by voluntary contributions.
Sean Connery has made his views clear on the vote"One of the stipulations is that we do not express any opinion that might be political because we want to be heard and seen everywhere in the world."
Connery on the other hand has been very vocal about the forthcoming vote.
In March he urged fellow Scots to vote for independence as the opportunity is "too good to miss".
The Hollywood star, who does not live in the country, claimed a "new nation" with more hope would be created if Scotland backs leaving the UK in September's referendum.
JK Rowling received abuse over her support of the no campaignA host of high-profile names have weighed into the Scottish independence debate. JK Rowling received abuse online after donating £1m to the anti-independence campaign.
Violinist Nicola Benedetti has refused to give her opinion for fear of similar attacks.
Meanwhile, after Daniel Craig's memorable appearance in accompanying the Queen to the opening ceremony of the London Olympics via parachute in a spoof short film two years ago, Sir Roger was asked if he would be seeing any other Bond actors in Glasgow and how he would be arriving at Wednesday's opening ceremony.
"Do I anticipate meeting any other James Bonds while I'm here? I haven't heard from Sean (Connery)," he said.
"As for making an entrance, there are no plans for that. I'm allergic to helicopters."
The ceremony will see spectators at Celtic Park and millions watching on television afforded the opportunity to donate by text message to Unicef.
